The Ford Fiesta is well on its way to finishing 2015 as the United Kingdom’s best-selling car. Through just six months, the Fiesta already leads the second-ranked Vauxhall Corsa by 21,865 units.

2015, therefore, will be the seventh consecutive year in which the Fiesta tops the UK best sellers’ leaderboard.

But reaching back to the beginning of the Fiesta’s streak in 2009 does not take us back to the beginning of Ford’s dominance of the UK best seller list. The Focus was the UK’s best-selling vehicle in ten consecutive years before the Fiesta took back the crown that it had held for three years prior to that.

The Fiesta had previously stolen the crown from another Ford, the Escort. One Ford or another was the UK’s best-selling car reaching all the way back until 1971, when the Austin 1100/1300 ended its tenure.

Back in the present, here are the 10 best-selling vehicles in the United Kingdom through the first-half of 2015. So far this year, the Fiesta is America’s 73rd-best-selling vehicle, 36th-best-selling car, and the fifth-best-selling car in its segment.
